This was a multi-day, multi-product project for Spot Bikes: an outdoor photo shoot for their Ryve 115 short-travel mountain bike, and a studio photo and video shoot for launching Spot’s new Mayhem 140 trail bike. The studio portion was intensive with frame-only and complete bikes, in two colors each. I was meticulous in lining up the photos so that the black and teal color versions were as close to identical as possible. The stunning product video was next-level and one of the more complex shoots I’ve tackled… utilizing complex matched shots of the frames and built bikes in black and blue paint options, macro motion, and 360 product spins. Each matched shot was setup with motorized camera motion control system, filmed for the black bike, and then repeated immediately for the teal bike before moving on to the next shot. A short behind-the-scenes look is at the bottom of this page.
The images and video were used on Spot’s website and product pages, social media marketing, paid advertising, and editorially in various cycling publications like Bike Rumor.
