Client: OtterBox Project: Retail packaging Involvement: Concept, 3d mockups, design, texture photography, collaboration with production vendors
Designing global retail packaging for OtterBox was one of my defining career achievements. This packaging is currently used worldwide and in Target, Best Buy, Radio Shack, and many other major retailers. Several issues were present upon initial roll out and we successively worked through each issue while collaborating with the retailers. I have since learned a considerable amount about what was good, bad, and what should be done differently next time. Overall, the packaging was a win and with is undergoing some further tweaks to the design to bring it closer with where the visual brand is headed. The last image shows one version of the final packaging on one of my point-of-purchase rack concepts.
